How to Recover Admin Password on SMA 100 Series for SMA500v

Resolution

If the customer has the configuration backup
- Boot the appliance to factory default
- Unzip the backup configuration
- Open and Edit the settings.json file
- Delete the admin user in Users section
- Zip the configuration
- Import the configuration into the SMA appliance
- The admin password will be reset to the default “password”

If no backup configuration exists then admin password reset is not possible and customer will be required to reconfigure the SMA appliance.
