Log Monitor display options

How to add or remove display options in the Log Monitor

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.

  1. Navigate to Monitor|Logs|System Logs

  2. Click on Grid Settings

    In this example we are going to add the NAT Policy option

  3. Select NAT Policy under Category 4 (Connection)

  4. In the Log Monitor it should be possible to see events where mapping was applied.  In this example the reference number is 17.  It is important to note that the number refers to the priority and not the actual NAT policy index number.

  5. Navigate to Policy|Rules and Policies|NAT Rules.  Here you will see that the event refers to NAT policy 75 which has a priority of 17.

    The grid setting shows how many options are selected.

Resolution for SonicOS 6.5

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.

The configuration steps are similar to SonicOS 7.x but for some minor differences.

  1. Navigate to Investigate|Event Logs
  2. Click on the display options icon

  3. Select the options you want to see in the log monitor.  For this example we are going to select NAT Policy

    It should then be possible to view the NAT policy used for a specific connection

    A maximum of 15 columns can be displayed in SonicOS 6.5
