Java 7 Update 51 preventing java applets to run

With the Latest Java 7 update 51 users will experience failure to launch RDP and fileshare bookmarks after logging into the portal.  Java has made more security changes thus blocking our applet from functioning properly.  The beta firmware of 7.5 has not been affected by these changes.

The firmware versions of 7.0.0.10sv and 7.5.0.0sv will contain java applet changes to support the new security functionality of java.  Until these are web released we have the following workaround of using java exclusion list for the sites affected.

Step 1: Launch Java from Control Panel to make below changes:

Note: Lowering of  security level from High to Medium would be an option to be considered.

Step 2: Click the Add button to expand the exception list

Step 3: Add the Url of Portal to the exception list.
