Installing Email Security Software

Description

Sonicwall Email Security Software minimum requirements:

 

Firmware versions 9.1.x and older

Operating System: Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit or newer

Processor: Intel Pentium: P4 or compatible CPU

Memory: 8GB RAM

Hard Disk Space: 160GB, may require more based on mail volume, quarantine size, archived data, and audit settings

 Operating System: Windows Server 2012/2012 R2/2016

Processor: Intel Pentium: P4 or compatible CPU

Memory: 8GB RAM

Hard Disk Space: 160GB, may require more based on mail volume, quarantine size, archived data, and audit settings

Resolution

Prior to installing Email Security Software, Windows Firewall and User Access Control must be disabled.

NOTE: User Access Control may need to be disabled in the registry. Run regedit and go to registry subkey below and find the EnableLUA key in the details pane. Change the Value data to 0 and click Ok.

 From the server on which it will be installed, download the software install package from mysonicwall.com then double click the file to kick off the installation.

The Wise Installation wizard will kick off and the installation will begin. The install package includes components that Email Security needs in order to function properly.

If installing on the C: drive, click Next or click Browse to select a different drive and click Next.

If selecting to store the data in the default path, click Yes when prompted.

If prompted to confirm third party products will be installed, click Install.

When installation is complete, select a Port Number on which the web interface will be allowed to connect.

A web browser tab will open with links to log into the newly provisioned server and documentation.
