SonicWall Mobile Connect for Windows 8.1 is a VPN plug-in that is distributed by Microsoft as part of Windows 8.1 The SonicWall Mobile Connect VPN plug-in provided SSLVPN Connection to devices running Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 RT.
To configure VPN Connection to firewall appliances (TZ, NSA, E-Class NSA) running SonicOS 184.108.40.206 or higher, please refer the following Advanced Settings options on Mobile connect Plugin. By Default the VPN Plugin is setup for HTTPS (443) port, hence we need to use these advanced PowerShell based configuration to create a Connection profile on custom SSLVPN Port setup on the firewall
Open Windows PowerShell
Run the following commands (one line at a time) within the PowerShell Window $xml = "<MobileConnect><Port>4433</Port></MobileConnect>" $sourceXml=New-Object System.Xml.XmlDocument $sourceXml.LoadXml($xml) Add-VpnConnection -Name FWSSLVPN -ServerAddress 10.61.252.250 -SplitTunneling $True -PluginApplicationID SonicWall.MobileConnect_cw5n1h2txyewy -CustomConfiguration $sourceXml
With the above commands, the connection profile is created using the following details: Custom SSLVPN Port: 4433 Name of the Connection Profile: FWSSLVPN Firewall IP Address: 10.61.252.250 (You can also use a FQDN depending on your SSLVPN DNS Setup).
Once the profile is created, you can launch the VPN Connection from the Settings - Network App page.
