Description
When working with an O365 account, how do I route my outbound mail from O365 to HES?
Resolution
To configure mail routing from the O365 server to Hosted Email security server, Start off on the O365 side of the configuration and create a send connector to point all outbound mailflow from O365 to deliver straight to HES.
-
Login to the Office 365 admin center, and go to Admin centers > Exchange.
- In the left pane, click mail flow, and click connectors.
-
Click the + symbol, and use the wizard to create a new connector.
-
From the drop-down menu select From: Office 365 and To: Partner organization:
Give a Name to identify the connector:
Click Next.
Select Only when email messages are sent to these domains click the + symbol, and enter an asterisk ( * ) in the add domain field:
Click OK and click Next.
Select Route email through these smart hosts, and click the + symbol.
Add the below mentioned outbound hosted (respective to your location) in the smart host section,
For North American customers please use: usprodoffice365ou.com.outbound.snwlhosted.com
For European customers please use: euprodoffice365ou.com.outbound.snwlhostedeu.com Our new connector example will use the North America domain:
Select: Always use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to secure the connection (recommended) > Issued by Trusted certificate authority (CA):
On the confirmation page, verify your settings and click Next.
Office 365 will run a test to verify your settings:
When the verification page displays, enter a test email address, and click Validate. Once the verification is complete, your mail flow settings are added. Now,Configure SonicWall HES to permit HES to relay outbound email from your O365 account to external recipients.
- Login into the HES portal as Admin
- Go to System> Network>Server Configuration> OutboundTab
- Under Configure your domain> Settings section, provide your domain name in the box next to it to allow relaying from your domain.
- Also, under option: Only this ISP can connect and relay through this path and select Office 365 from the drop down
- Click Apply Changes to save the settings.
Sonicwall Hosted Email security is now ready to accept outbound traffic from your Outlook 365 server.
Once outbound mail is flowing, it is a good idea to create an SPF record for your domain. For steps on creating an SPF record, click here.
