To configure mail routing from the on premise exchange server to Hosted Email security server, Start off on the exchange server configuration and create a send connector to point all outbound mailflow from Exchange to deliver straight to HES.
Open Exchange Management Console Click on the + next to Organization Configuration Select Hub Transport and select the Send Connectors tab:
Right click on send connector select Properties and go to the Network tab. Select "Route mail through the following smart hosts:" and click Add:- (shown below)
Add the below mentioned outbound hosted (respective to your location) in the smart host section, Lest assume your domain is " domain.com" , outbound mx may look like below For North American customers please use: domain.com.outbound.snwlhosted.com For European customers please use: domain.com.outbound.snwlhostedeu.com Our new connector example will use the North America domain:
The changes you've made to the Send Connector will take effect straight away without you having to reboot the server or restart any services.
Now,Configure SonicWall HES to permit HES to relay outbound email from your exchange account to external recipients. Login into the HES portal as Admin Go to System> Network>Server Configuration> OutboundTab Under Configure your domain> Settings section, provide your domain name in the box next to it to allow relaying from your domain. Also, under option: Only These IP adddresses can connect and relay through this path (Please enter the mail server Public IP )
NOTE: Please only add the mail server public IP and do not add ISP IP or any other IP address here.
Click Apply Changes to save the settings. Sonicwall is now ready to accept Outbound traffic from your on premise exchange server.
