How to reboot SonicWall Switch from SonicWall UTM GUI?

Description

This article shows how the SonicWall switch can be restarted from the firewall UI.


Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.


NOTE: The SonicWall switch should be in a connected status to send the reboot command from the firewall UI. If it unreachable, the reboot will fail. You would either need to login to switch UI and restart or power cycle the Switch manually.


To reboot the switch from SonicWall UTM GUI:

  1. Navigate to Device | Switch network | Overview
  2. You can perform this action from Physical view or VLAN view tabs.
  3. Click on the three dots next to the switch and select 'Reboot switch' option.

  4. The switch will go into rebooting state and come back up as connected within 45-60 seconds.
  5. You can check for the uptime of the switch by navigating to Device | Switch network | Switches and Switch details tab. The Switch details tab has Uptime listed.

  2. You can perform this action from Physical or VLAN view tabs.
  3. Click on the three dots next to the switch and select 'Reboot switch' option.
