How to obtain the MAC (ethernet hardware) address of the Global VPN Client (GVC) virtual adapter

Resolution

Follow these steps to obtain the MAC address of the SonicWall Virtual Adapter Global VPN Client component:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Settings > Control Panel (Control Panel is immediately under the Start menu in Windows XP and 2003).
  3. Choose Network Connections.
  4. Right click SonicWall Virtual Adapter.
  5. Click Properties.
  6. On the General tab, click the Configure button.
  7. Select the Advanced tab.
  8. Note the value shown for the Network Address (MAC) field.
  9. Click Cancel to avoid making any changes.
