How to export SonicWall Switch logs using CLi?

Description

This article will help you to export the switch logs to a text file using a terminal emulation application.

Resolution

  1. Launch any terminal emulation application that communicates to the appliance (PuTTY, TeraTerm Pro,SecureCRT, HyperTerminal, etc.) and configure the following settings.

     NOTE: The configuration may differ for other applications; the demonstration below is based on the Terminal enumerator software "PuTTY."

  2. Please enter the Host name (IP address) and Port number to establish a connection.

  3. When the connection is established, log in to the security appliance using the credentials.


  4. Please enter the following command to turn-off the cli pagination .

  5. Please enter the below command to show the logs on the switch.

  6. The location specified on the configuration settings of the terminal application will contain a TXT file with logs.
