How to exclude Tally URLs from Content Filter Services (CFS)

Description
Tally Solutions is a licensed Enterprise Resource Planning Software that is used to handle accounting, inventory management, tax management, payroll etc amongst its list. The software checks for updates including licenses, software updates while contacting Tally Servers. These URLs are blocked by SonicWall CFS engine if the CFS engine is running.
Resolution
Resolution for SonicOS 7.X
This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.
- Login to the firewall management UI.
- Navigate to Objects | Match Objects | URI lists.
- Click on Add and enter name as 'Allowed Lists', then enter the allowed URLs. Note: For this KB we are creating a new list, if an existing list is present then add the following URLs in the list.

*.tallyenterprise.com
- Click on Save once the URL's are added.
- Navigate to Objects | Profile Objects | Content Filter and chose the CFS profile object and edit.
- From the dropdown of "Allowed URL list" select the appropriate list.
- Click on 'Save' at the bottom and then test.
Resolution for SonicOS 6.5
This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.
- Login to the firewall.
- Navigate to Manage | Policies | Objects | Content Filter Objects | URL List Objects
- Click on "Add"
- Enter the Name as "Allowed List" and enter the allowed URL's. Note: For this KB we are creating a new allowed list, if an existing list is present then add the following URL's in the list
- *.tallysolutions.com
- *.tallyenterprise.com
- Click on "OK" at the bottom.
- Navigate to "CFS Profile Objects" and choose the CFS policy, edit the policy.
- From the drop down of "Allowed URI List" select the appropriate allowed list
- Click on "OK" at the bottom
- Now test.
Resolution for SonicOS 6.2 and Below
The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. For firewalls that are generation 6 and newer we suggest to upgrade to the latest general release of SonicOS 6.5 firmware.
For firmware versions 5.9.x.x and below 6.2.6.x follow this step else proceed to the next session
- Login to the firewall.
- Navigate to Security Services | Content Filter
- Click on "Configure" and click on "Policy" from the tab.
- Choose the required policy, for this KB we are using the default policy
- Click on "Custom List" and under the "Allowed Domains" add the following URL's
- experts.tallysolutions.com
- lds001.tallyenterprise.com
- lds002.tallyenterprise.com
- tallyenterprise.com
- tallysolutions.com
- trb001.tallyenterprise.com
- trb002.tallyenterprise.com
- trb003.tallyenterprise.com
- trb004.tallyenterprise.com
- trb005.tallyenterprise.com
- trb006.tallyenterprise.com
- trb007.tallyenterprise.com
- trb008.tallyenterprise.com
- Click on "OK" at the bottom and exit out of the CFS configuration.
- Now test.
For firmwares 6.2.6.x and below 6.5.x.x follow this section
- Login to the firewall.
- Navigate to Firewall | Content Filter Objects
- Under the "URI List Objects", click on "Add"
- Enter the Name as "Allowed List" and enter the allowed URL's. Note: For this KB we are creating a new allowed list, if an existing list is present then add the following URL's in the list
- *.tallysolutions.com
- *.tallyenterprise.com
- Navigate to "CFS Profile Objects" and choose the CFS policy, edit the policy.
- From the drop down of "Allowed URI List" select the appropriate allowed list
- Click on "OK" at the bottom
- Now test.
