How to disable a custom web server certificate for SonicWall Management Interface from the CLI

Resolution

 

Problem Definition:

In scenarios where an administrator has imported a Web Server certificate into the SonicWall and has assigned the certificate to the management interface, after restarting the appliance, access to the management interface is lost. 

This KB article describes how to regain access to the management interface by disabling the certificate from being used for HTTPS management from the Command-Line Interface (CLI) of the SonicWall.

Resolution or Workaround: 

Login to the CLI of the SonicWall either through Console or SSH. 

  1. Change to the configuration mode by entering config
  2. Enter the administration console by entering administration
  3. Enter web-management certificate use-self-signed and press enter
  4. Save the changes by entering commit

    Try to access the management interface again and this time you will get the login page.
