How to check if Summarizer is currently processing syslog files.
Solution 1 - VM and Windows Installation: - Login to the application interface of GMS (ipaddress/sgms). - Go System > Diagnostics and download brighthouse.log file.
- Open it and search in the bottom if there are messages similar to this one:
It means that summarizer is processing files correctly.
Solution 2 - Windows Only:
- Go to GMSVP/syslogs folder on hard disk and check if the number of syslogs in this folder is increasing/decreasing.
-If the number is decreasing, and the .prd files in GMSVP/syslogs/archivedSyslogs are increasing, then summarizer is processing syslogs correctly. -If the number is decreasing and the .pre files in GMSVP/syslogs/badSyslogs are increasing, then summarizer is processing syslogs correctly but those files are corrupt syslogs being sent from the firewall.
Note: Syslogs are treated as bad if they are corrupt or if they are sent from a firmware not supported by the GMS version.
