How to block signal using App Control?

Description

SonicWall has recently updated its App Control signature list to include Signal.org (https://signal.org), the official site of the Signal app. Signal originated as Whisper Systems and has since evolved into a leading encrypted messaging platform maintained by the Signal Foundation.

1. For efficient functioning of App Control concerning Signal.org traffic (allowance or denial), please ensure that the following signatures appear when searching with the keyword ‘signal’:

SIG_ID: 11335Signal -- TCP Activity 1

SIG_ID: 11336Signal -- TCP Activity 2

SIG_ID: 11334Signal -- TCP Activity 3

SIG_ID: 7816Signal -- TCP Activity 1 (Video)

NOTE: If these signatures do not appear, proceed to update the signature database to ensure the most recent entries are loaded.

2. Please refer to the screenshot below for reference.

3. If these signatures do not appear, please proceed to update the App Control signature database to retrieve the latest definitions from the backend servers, as shown below.

Please try Step 1 again and verify if the required signatures are now appearing correctly in the App Control list. If the signatures are still missing, kindly reach out to SonicWall Support for further assistance.
