DESCRIPTION: How to allow emails coming from my own domain junked by Email security as spam/spoofed email.
Question: How can I allow email coming in from my own domain but from outside the network and avoid them getting junked by Email security as spoofed emails.
If you are using some third party vendor to host your email or some web services which might be sending emails with your own domain name in the "from" field, there is a higher chance email security will junk that email as spoofed/spam email. Create a policy filter to allow emails coming from the source IP.
To allow such email please create a policy filter on Email security as follows|
login to email security Webui as admin
Go to policy and compliance ---> Filters-- > click on " Add New Filter" button
Select : Source IP ( from the drop down menu) and matching is and in the Search Value put the IP of the sending server ( public IP )
Under the "Perform the following actions:" Select --> Deliver and skip spam and phishing analysis.
Give a name to the filter under filter name section and click on "Save This Filter".
Test this filter by sending an email from that source IP again and it should come through without getting junked/ blocked.
Note: Please do not create a filter by allowing your own domain name in the policy filter or adding it in the allowed list. It can allow someone to spoof that domain name and send spam emails.
