How do I uninstall the Content Filter Client?

Description

While trying to uninstall Content Filter Client using the installer, we get an error message that says "This action is only valid for currently installed products".

Resolution

The Content Filter client can be uninstalled via Comand Prompt by using the following command:

"c:\program files (x86)\SonicWall\content filtering client\cfservice " show install (64-bit OS)

"c:\program files\SonicWall\content filtering client\cfservice" show install (32-bit OS)

While executing this command, check the application name. Depending on the version, the application is either "cfservice" or "cfcservice".

Then from Start Menu  Open the RUN command, Copy Uninstall Command (seen above in cmd window) after the :

example msiexec.exe /X{1512C8E4-5E40-4488-94B5-94DD8E031805} PASSWORD=

add in password for that certain client device from EPRS ( from your mysonicwall.com link )

Then this can be executed to successfully remove the client.
