A security certificate is a small data file used as an Internet security technique through which the identity, authenticity and reliability of a website or Web application is established.
This article describes how to import a signed end user certificate and a CA certificate into the MS Windows local machine (My Computer) certificate store.

Importing a CA certificate into the local machine certificate store
- After successfully importing the signed certificate, the wizard will bring you back to the MMC main console.
- To import the CA certificate, navigate to Trusted Root Certification Authorities | Certificates pane.
- Right-click within the Certificates panel and click All Tasks | Import to start the Certificate Import wizard.
- On successfully importing the CA certificate the wizard will bring you back to the you back to the MMC main console.
- Close the MMC console.
