How can I enable SSH management access on the firewall

Description

This article explains how to open port 22 for SSH management access on firewall for LAN and WAN.

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.

Enabling the SSH management services on LAN interface of SonicWall.

  1. Navigate to Network | System | Interfaces page in the SonicWall GUI.
    2. Click Configure option of the LAN interface.
    3. In General tab, enable the check boxes SSH for Management.
    4. Click OK.

    2. Click Configure option of the WAN interface.
    3. In General tab, enable the check boxes SSH for Management.
    4. Click OK.

    2. Click Configure option of the LAN interface.
    3. In General tab, enable the check boxes SSH for Management.
    4. Click OK.
