GVC Error "Cannot Enable Connection, the virtual IP address is already in use".

Description

GVC Error "Cannot Enable Connection, the virtual IP address is already in use".

Resolution

A pop-up window appear with the error message "Cannot Enable Connection the virtual IP address is already in use". This message occurs when second VPN connection policy is enabled in the Global VPN Client software.

ImageBecause the existing active VPN connection policy on the GVC has aquired an IP address automatically (DHCP lease) and will bind it to the SonicWall Virtual Adapter, it is not possible to bind a second IP address (DHCP Lease) to the SonicWall Virtual Adapter.

Resolution or workaround:

1. Login to the SonicWall Appliance of the Second VPN connection
2. Go to VPN > Settings page, Edit the GroupVPN (WAN GroupVPN on SonicOS Enhanced).
3. On the Clients tab change the Virtual Adapter settings to "None" instead of DHCP Lease.
4. Click OK to update the settings

Now the second VPN connection policy in the GVC software should be able to connect successfully.
