On SonicOS 6.5, we have an option to administratively shutdown a port on the firewall. When a specific port is ON, there is a green check mark next to it indicating the same.
NOTE: For details on how to shut down a port, please refer to: Is There A Way To Shutdown The Interface In SonicOS?
By default, all interfaces on the firewall are ON. When we manage the firewall using a specific interface IP, the green checkmark is not visible for that interface. This is true even if the admin is in non-config mode.
EXAMPLE: Here you can see that there are no green checkboxes next to the X1 and X4 interfaces.

This does not indicate that there is a problem with those ports. For any issues related to the port you would need to perform the steps listed in Ethernet Port Not Responding?
You can check the user sessions under MONITOR | Users Sessions | Active Users that show why those checkmarks might be missing and who is logged in to the firewall.

Also, while you logged in to the firewall on a particular interface IP, you cannot shutdown the same port as the ‘Shutdown Port’ option will be greyed out.
