An appliance administrator may see the following messages logged in the System Message Log (/var/log/aventail/access_servers.log) regarding buffer overflows:
[15/Feb/2008:16:31:57.861550 -0600] vpn1 002091 us 4010022a Warning System AVSSLD: Buffer overflow, 3136 bytes pending [15/Feb/2008:16:31:57.933519 -0600] vpn1 002091 us 4010022b Warning System AVSSLD: Buffer overflow, 3136 bytes pending
Resolution or Workaround:
This message is not cause for concern. It indicates that the size of the buffer needed to handle SSL handshaking is larger than the preallocated default buffer. In a future release, SonicWall will be changing the message to handle a higher logging level to avoid confusion.
