EX SSL-VPN: Folders having names with German special characters like ä and é doesn't show the files correctly when we extract the folders
Folders having names with German special characters like ä and é doesn't show the files correctly when we extract the folders
When users are trying to download folders from workplace network explorer and If the network share contains German special characters in the name (like ä é), the users don't get the original filenames after downloading and extracting the zip file.
All German special characters are substituted by question marks or umlaut characters.
SonicWall and Aventail Engineerting team investigated and we need to use this workaround for German customers
Please follow the steps and let me know the update

Edit #vi smb.properties
Add this line “smb.cifs8BitEncoding=Cp850”
As shown below.
# for Korean environment, uncomment this line:
smb.cifs8BitEncoding=Cp850 --> add this line below KOREAN in smb.properties.
Then restart workplace service (/etc/init.d/extraweb restart) and we should be able to open these characters.
