Creating SonicWall SSO Static Entries

Description

How to create static entries in SonicWall SSO

Cause

Some IT professionals may want to improve SSO efficiency and help secure their networks by assigning hostnames to unknown hosts. Static entries allow you to quickly associate a static IP with a hostname. Static SSO entries may also help with quickly identifying and tracking down a host while troubleshooting. Resolving unknown hostnames with static entries can help reduce the load on the firewall and SSO agent when those hosts are not excluded from SSO processing.

Resolution

Export the csv from within the SSO agent

Image

Enter the IP Address of the unknown host in column A. Then enter the domain\username of the corresponding IP in column B. Image

Import the csv file back into the SSO agent.
