CFS not working as websites not getting blocked

Description

This article will show you how to resolve CFS not blocking websites on new Gen7 firewalls

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.

  1. Navigate to Policy | Security Service | Content FilterImage
  2. Make Sure Content Filter is enabled in the Global Setting
  3. Also make sure that Exclude Administrator option is disabled in case the user is trying to test it on his PC from where he is administrating the firewall. If this option is enabled, CFS will not apply to that PC from which the firewall is being managed.
  4. Go to Object | Profile Objects | Content FilterImage
  5. Open the CFS Profile which is being used in the policy. In this case we take the CFS default profile and click on edit.
  6. In Advanced setting, enable HTTTPS Content filtering.Image
  7. Enabling this option will cause all HTTPS websites to be blocked or allowed using CFS.
