Upgrading from GMS/Analyzer 8.1 to GMS 8.4/Analyzer

The process of upgrading from GMS 8.1 to 8.4 (Analyzer 8.1 to 8.4) requires a set of steps to follow, as there are dependencies on files installed. 

Note: You CANNOT upgrade directly from GMS 8.1 to 8.4  (Analyzer 8.1 to 8.4).

Steps for upgrading GMS / Analyzer-Windows from 8.1(The Server is already running with GMS/Analyzer 8.1 Rv2) to 8.4 :

Step 1: Always take a backup of GMS / Analyzer system

Step 3: Apply SW Analyzer/GMS SP1 on the GMS/Analyzer 8.1 system and reboot the system.

Step 4: Apply 8.1 Hotfix 173751 and reboot the system

Step 5: Apply 8.1 Hotfix 178719 and reboot the system

Step 6: Apply 8.1 Hotfix 185340 and reboot the system

Step 7: Now download the installation files , hotixes and service packs for GMS/Analyzer 8.2 from mysonicwall as highlighted in the screen shot below:

Step 12: Apply upgrade to GMS/Analyzer 8.3 (SW 8.3 GMS/Analyzer Rv2 Windows) and reboot the system upon completion of upgrade.

Step 13: Apply 8.3 SP1 and reboot the system.

Step 14: Download  the installation files , hotixes and service packs for GMS/Analyzer 8.4 from mysonicwall as highlighted in the screen shot below:

Step 15:Apply upgrade to GMS/Analyzer 8.4(SW 8.4 GMS/Analyzer Rv2 Windows) and reboot the system upon completion of upgrade.

Step 16: Apply GMS/Analyzer 8.4 SP1 and reboot the system.
