How SonicWall handle spam emails with multiple recipient?

Description

This article provides a detailed explanation of how SonicWall Email Security Solution manages and filters out spam emails that are sent to multiple recipients.

Resolution

The SonicWall Email Security Solution handles an incoming e-mail with multiple recipients as a single e-mail however a spam email can be flexibly handled differently per user preference.

Example: assume a spam message was intended for three recipients, who have specified the following individual users' preferences.

Recipient 1 -- Opted out of spam scanning.
Recipient 2 -- Has message management set to subject-line tagging.
Recipient 3 -- Has message management set to junk spam messages.

In this scenario, SonicWall Email Security Solution handles a spam email with the user's preference.

Recipient 1 would receive the original message.
Recipient 2 would receive a modified message (subject line tagged).
Recipient 3 would receive no message. The message would be quarantined.

Anyone who had opted out of corporate default (Junk Spam) as one's choice will receive spam even if the message was identified as spam.
