SonicWall has named Carolyn McCarthy, previously the company's Chief Operating Officer, as Chief Executive Officer, and Gregg Whitney as Chief Financial Officer. The leadership transition arrives at a pivotal point in SonicWall's ongoing transformation, and it reflects the company's commitment to building on the strength of a team that already knows the business, its partners, and its customers deeply.
“I couldn’t be more optimistic about SonicWall’s path forward,” said Carolyn McCarthy, SonicWall’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our strategy is delivering real results, and we see strong momentum in our highest-growth areas like Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) and Managed Security Services (MSS). As we take this next step, my priority is ensuring we operate with absolute discipline and focus, aligning our resources directly where our customers and partners need us most to build a sustainable, long-term foundation.”
McCarthy steps into the CEO role after serving as SonicWall's COO, giving her firsthand familiarity with the day-to-day operations, partner relationships, and strategic priorities that have shaped the company's direction. Whitney joins as CFO, bringing financial leadership aligned with that same focus on discipline and long-term, sustainable growth.
For partners and customers, the leadership transition is designed to bring continuity rather than disruption: a leadership team that already understands SonicWall's strategy, stepping more fully into the roles that will carry it forward. Both McCarthy and Whitney have signaled that their immediate focus is on sharpening execution, investing resources where partners and customers need them most.
With this reinforced leadership team now in place, SonicWall is positioning itself for the next phase of its journey, with McCarthy and Whitney jointly focused on sustainable, long-term growth for the partners and customers who depend on SonicWall every day.
