Carter Hopkins is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel at SonicWall, where he leads the company’s global legal strategy and provides legal counsel across all aspects of the business. Carter’s work focuses on enabling SonicWall’s partner-first strategy through thoughtful legal frameworks that support growth and compliance.

Under Carter’s leadership, SonicWall has streamlined licensing agreements, optimized partner contracts and modernized legal processes to scale with the company’s expansion. His contributions have improved partner experiences and ensured SonicWall’s alignment with regulatory requirements across global markets.

Carter plays an integral role in supporting SonicWall’s go-to-market strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate commercial transactions, safeguard intellectual property and advance corporate objectives. His work continues to enable SonicWall’s growth while managing legal risks.

Carter has been advising technology companies for over twenty years. Prior to joining SonicWall, Carter held in-house roles at McAfee, Intel and Goldman Sachs. He holds a J.D. and is based in Dallas, Texas.
