Description

SMB and EX SSL-VPN: Authentication fails with Mobile connect when the login credentials include international characters

Resolution

Problem Definition:

When connecting with Mobile connect on an iOS device to an SSLVPN enabled device, authentication fails if the user credentials contains any international characters. Other SonicWall VPN clients like Netextender or Connect tunnel (for Aventail) may work properly.

How to Test:

Username based failure:

1. Create a user "ü" on an SRA unit (password "test", domain "LocalDomain")
2. Create a connection on Mobile Connect for the same SRA with the same credentials
3. Attempt to login from Mobile Connect
4. Observer the "incorrect username/password" error

Domain based failure

1. Create a domain "ü" on an SRA unit
2. Create a user in the domain (username: "user", password "test")
3. Create a connection on Mobile Connect for the same SRA with the same credentials
4. Attempt to login from Mobile Connect
5. Observer the "invalid domain" error
