Firewall Firmware

To be EU compliant administrators must minimally upgrade to SonicOS 7.2.0 or later. Running the most current firmware for your firewall ensures that the most recent patches and critical updates have also been installed. The firewall administrator can manually perform firmware upgrades or use a feature called Firmware Auto Upgrade to automate and schedule the upgrades. Automatic upgrades ensure the firmware level stays current.

  1. Navigate to Device > Settings > Firmware and Settings and select the Settings tab.

  2. Scroll down to the UPDATE AVAILABILITY and enable the following settings:

    • Check for available updates
    • Download new firmware automatically when available
  3. Scroll down to the AUTOMATIC INSTALLS section and enable the option to Automatically install downloaded firmware.
  4. In the Schedule field click Set Schedule and define the firmware installation hours.
