The following methods can be used to restart NSv on the Proxmox platform:
- Restart from SonicOS GUI
- Restart from SonicOS CLI
- Restart from SafeMode UI
- Restart from SafeMode CLI
- Restart from SonicCoreX CLI
- Restart from SonicCoreX SafeMode CLI
- Restart using Proxmox (workaround required due to known issue)
1. Restart from SonicOS GUI:
- Log in to the firewall
- Navigate to Device | Restart
- Click Restart and confirm

2. Restart from SonicOS CLI:
- Connect to the NSv using CLI (SSH or console)
- Run the appropriate restart command (e.g., restart)
- Confirm if prompted

3. Restart from Safemode UI:
- Access the NSv SafeMode interface via browser
- Navigate to the restart/reboot option
- Confirm the reboot action

4. Restart from Safemode CLI:
- Connect to the NSv SafeMode CLI by typing ‘safemode’ in SonicOS CLI
- Execute the reboot command
- Confirm if prompted

5. Restart from SonicCoreX CLI:
- Access the SonicCoreX CLI by entering ‘ctrl+s spacebar’ in console
- Run the appropriate restart command
- Wait for the system to reboot

Note : Type "Ctrl + s + space" can switch between SonicOS CLI and SonicCoreX CLI

6. Restart from SonicCoreX Safemode CLI:
- Access the SonicCoreX SafeMode CLI
- Run the appropriate reboot command
- Wait for the system to restart

7. The Reboot & Shutdown options in the Proxmox Manager UI are currently not functional for NSv.
Known Issue ID: GEN8-16555
Workaround:
- Log in to the Proxmox Manager UI
- Select the NSv virtual machine
- Click Stop
- Once the VM is stopped, click Start
This effectively performs a restart of the NSv instance.
