Resolution

New User created in LDAP does not show up immediately on Email Security-- Users & groups

  • When a New user is created in your LDAP server it does not show up immediately under Manage | System Setup | Users,Groups & Organizations | Users . It usually updates on top of an hour and hence you may see new user not showing up on email security server immediately.

  • The frequency of minutesĀ the usermap.xml file refreshes is set to ā€˜60’ which indicates 60 minutes. The frequency interval cannot be set to any lower than 60, as thatsĀ the minimum time interval.
  • IfĀ you want to force an update on the usermap, click on the Save changes underĀ Manage | Server | LDAP Configuration | LDAP users Ā and navigateĀ  toĀ Manage | System Setup | Users,Groups & Organizations | Users and clickĀ Ā Refresh Users & Group buttonĀ .This would fetch the information from the LDAP server immediately.Ā  Ā Ā

  • Ā Email securityĀ will fetch the LDAP information periodically depending on the setting you have on the ā€œUser Frequencyā€ section of LDAP configuration (Default is 60 mins).

    TIP: Tip text here : If above steps does not help then User path/tree has to be verified on Active Directory.
