How to manually create FTP backup from CLI

Answer:

Console interface allows for manual FTP backup of configuration from Email Security appliance to the external FTP

Manual FTP backup allows us to create backup of most recent configuration backup instantly, without the need to wait for the schedule to execute scheduled backup



Procedure:
 

Log in to the CLI interface with snwlcli, provide admin username and its current password

Execute following command:

SNWLCLI> downloadbackup FTP

You will be prompted to enter FTP server details as in the following example:

Enter ip_fqdn : IP_Address or FQDN of FTP Server
Enter port      : port_number (by default FTP uses port 21 for the incoming connections)
Enter login     : "username" (username for the share on FTP)
Enter passwd    : "password" (password for the user used to authenticate)
Enter path      : "path, IE. /"(patch on the server to the directory where you wish to save the backup, directory must be writable)

As the result similar output will be shown and backup will be send to FTP server:
