How To enable printer redirection on UTM SSLVPN RDP bookmark

Description

This article explains the printer redirection feature available on UTM device SSLVPN module.RDP bookmark options are available on SSLVPN portal where ActiveX and Java based RDP bookmarks can be added.
Many time with the regular bookmark printer redirection is also required for ease of access. Though UTM does not provide too many functionalities in RDP compared to SRA device but printer redirection feature is available here.

Microsoft defines Printer redirection as

Printer redirection routes printing jobs from the terminal server or Remote Desktop computer to a printer attached to your local computer (also called the "client computer"). There are two ways to provide access to local printers: automatic and manual printer redirection. Use manual redirection when your local printer requires a driver that is not available on the version of Windows that is running on the remote computer.

NOTE: SonicWall would only forward/redirect the printer traffic and that can be verified on windows event logs but it's working would also depend on the windows remote desktop services settings. It would to a large extent depend on the OS type and settings. It is always recommended to check the client/server OS settings before contacting support.
