What is SonicWall’s SecureFirst partner program?

SonicWall’s SecureFirst partner program is a global partner program that offers world-class cybersecurity and networking solutions as well as enhanced customer service and technical support to help you service your customers: small and medium-sized businesses and corporations with distributed enterprises, including industries such as K-12 education, higher education, federal agencies and government, state and local government, healthcare, financial services, carriers and more.

What benefits do I receive as a SonicWall SecureFirst partner?

SecureFirst partners receive exclusive access to promotional and marketing materials, sales enablement, and training and certification programs. Additionally, partners receive priority technical support from our expert team and advanced threat intelligence and detection capabilities to protect customer networks from advanced threats.

Who is eligible to become a SonicWall SecureFirst partner?

All types of partners are welcome to join SonicWall SecureFirst. This includes resellers, system integrators, managed service providers (MSPs), managed security service providers (MSSPs), distributors, network security consultants and other cybersecurity professionals.

What are the requirements for becoming a SonicWall SecureFirst partner?

To become a fully onboarded SonicWall SecureFirst partner, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Register with a current Distribution ID and accept the terms and conditions through SonicWall’s Website
  • Have an established track record of selling and servicing SonicWall solutions.
  • Enroll in the SonicWall Training and Certification program.
  • Be a reseller or integrator with a successful deployment record.
  • Actively market SonicWall solutions as your primary focus.

What type of support is available to SonicWall SecureFirst partners?

SonicWall SecureFirst partners receive access to a full range of technical support materials and solutions. This includes a dedicated team of expert engineering and sales personnel, exclusive access to product information, promotional and marketing materials, and sales enablement programs. Additionally, registered partners receive priority technical support from our experienced support team and advanced threat intelligence and detection capabilities to protect customer networks from advanced threats.

What’s new with SonicWall’s SecureFirst Partner Program?

SonicWall’s SecureFirst Partner Program is a comprehensive program designed to facilitate and enhance our relationships with our partners. We have introduced two distinct tiered tracks – Velocity and Mastery — with an option for flexible consumption and benefits for our Service Provider Partners to accommodate various business needs.

How is the new SecureFirst Partner Program different from the old one?

The new SecureFirst Partner Program differs in several areas.

The Velocity and Mastery Tracks offer unique market benefits scaled to the partner and their business.

New Customer deal registration will allow the maximum discount to ALL partner levels allowing ALL tiers to be price competitive.

Partners may generate guaranteed marketing development funds (MDF) based on sales volume in a given quarter. Partners may apply these funds for approved activities to co-brand, co-market and co-sell for mutual growth.

When is SonicWall switching over to the new Partner Program?

The new Partner Program will be effective for all SonicWall Partners on February 1st, 2024. However, new NOAM partners will be onboarded into the new program effective June 19th; not all benefits will be available at that launch. However, we can map how the new program will fit into your business and set objectives for your partner journey.

How long does it take to become an approved partner?

If all information is present on enrollment, it will generally take 48 hours.

I am a new partner. How do I choose which track to join?

New partners begin on the Velocity track – Bronze. With time and investment in Point-of-Sale (POS), training and certifications, you may advance to the Mastery track and higher tiers.

What are the requirements for joining each track?

The Velocity track has minimal requirements to join and advance with only Sales Volume targets, while the Mastery track requires training for point-of-sale (POS), Certifications, Specializations, NFR, CE Points, and a Quarterly Business Plan.

What are the benefits of joining the Velocity track?

This is a low entry simple solution to get started on your partnership with SonicWall. Volume discounts and a lower training time commitment help you and your team quickly ramp up for success.

What are the benefits of joining the Mastery track?

This is a great way to enhance our partnership as key strategic partners of SonicWall, with:

  • Improved margins
  • Guaranteed marketing development funds (MDF).
  • Premier Partner Support for higher tier partners.

Can I switch between the Velocity and Mastery tracks?

Yes, if qualified based upon minimum requirements.

What is a SonicWall Service Provider?

SonicWall Service Providers are often partners who are designated Managed Service Providers (MSP), Managed Security Services Providers (MSSP), or other cybersecurity specialty. Qualified service providers receive flexible billing and licensing models to accommodate their different business needs.

Can I opt straight into the Service Track?

The Service Provider Program is by application only. After a partner is established as an onboarded partner, they can apply, and if the requirements for the Service Provider track are met, they may opt in.

Can I partner with SonicWall if I already partner with other cybersecurity vendors?

Yes. Moreover, not only can you partner with us, but we strongly recommend you talk to your SonicWall representative to find out how we can accelerate your partnership status.

Why did SonicWall change its Partner Program?

SonicWall wanted to establish a Partner Program that empowered our partners to choose a relationship that best fit their business needs and goals; we believe the new program will help partners identify business priorities and work with SonicWall more strategically, as well as help SonicWall curate a Partner experience that best suits their organization.

I am an existing partner. How will the new program affect me?

The new SecureFirst program was intended to benefit partners. Channel managers will reach out before year-end to plan and identify how each partner will be impacted in your annual review.

What will happen to my current tier (Silver, Gold, Platinum) in the new program?

Effective February 1st, 2024, your tier will be based on your achievements and certification/ specializations. At the end of 2023, you will be transitioned into the new program, and the old tier benefits will be deactivated.

Why has the annual Sale Volume changed to Deal Value?

SonicWall believes in rewarding our partners for the value they bring to our partnership, and the change of Deal Value allows us to communicate with partners the exact amount needed to achieve or maintain their tier status.

Can I join the new program before 2024?

Only new partners and by special invitation will partners be able to enroll in the new program.

How will I transition from the existing program to the new one in 2024?

No action is needed on the partner side to transition. However, the partner should work with their account manager and log into the partner portal to see their new requirements and review their new tier’s benefits in the program.

What if I want to change between the two tracks?

At any time, if you meet the eligibility requirements for the tier you wish to move to, you can work with your account manager to transition between the tracks. However, SonicWall has worked hard to ensure each tier has its benefits and requirements mapped out, so this is rare. That said, should your business change, simply reach out to your account manager to do so.

Will the new SecureFirst Partner Program affect the services I currently provide to my customers?

No, there should be no disruption to any services provided to customers or partners.

What happens if I don’t meet the new tier requirements in the new program?

Please work with your account manager to understand what requirements will be necessary by February 1st, 2024, and work to build an action plan if necessary.

Service Provider Questions

How do Service Provider Partners differ from Velocity and Mastery tracks?

You spoke and we listened. We’ll meet our partners where they are. Our Service Provider partners will now have qualifying tiers and flexible consumption billing while receiving the SecureFirst benefits and partnership levels at whatever level of partnership they are in their journey.

How do I enroll as a Service Provider Partner?

You may enroll as a Service Provider Partner after your business meets a small series of requirements. You can see the requirements under the Service Provider section of the Partner Program in the Partner Portal. Your dedicated SonicWall Account Manager can also help you navigate these requirements and elevate your business together.
