Troubleshooting Web Interface issue (like Javascript error, HTTP 500 error)

Description

These are general troubleshooting steps to apply whenever you are facing any error in Web Interface of GMSVP.
It can be Javascript error, HTTP 500 error, etc...
This kind of error are may be due to a patch file not being applied to files that are in GMS, Java or your browser's cache. Below are the steps to clear the cache of these components.

If the issue remains, please call the SonicWall Technical Support for further assistance.

Note:
GMS automatically clears the Tomcat cache after installation of a minor patch or hotfix.
Java's or your Browser cache are obviously not cleaned automatically hence some issue main remain even after you applied a patch that should solve the issue.

Resolution

Clear GMSVP Tomcat cache:
Go to the System interface of GMS (http://IPAddress/appliance/) and login.
Then change the IP address in the URL bar from /appliance/applianceMainPage to /appliance/techSupport.html .
On the disclaimer page, click Accept.

Clear Java cache:
Close any browser windows and then go to Control Panel, Java.
Under General, Temporary Files, click Settings...

Clear IE cache:
Under tools, Internet Options, Browsing history click Delete...
Then select Temporary Internet files and click Delete.
ImageClear Firefox cache:
Under Tools, click Clear Recent History
Then select Time range to clear: Everything and Details, Cache then Clear Now.
ImageClear other browser cache:
Please refer to your browser documentation to know how to clear its cache.
