CAS Migration
Have migrations already begun?
Yes. SonicWall MSS began contacting partners and customers in January 2025 to schedule migrations. The majority of tenants have already been migrated. If you have not yet responded to previous outreach, your tenant will be automatically migrated starting June 1, 2026. No action is required from you.
What does the migration process look like?
The migration process involves three steps:
MSS will email you with your scheduled migration date. No action is required from you prior to the migration.
Your CAS tenant will be migrated to the SonicSentry Cloud Email Security powered by Avanan platform overnight on the scheduled date. During the migration there will be a temporary window of 1-2 hours where mail flow continues but is unprotected while policies are transferred. Email delivery will not be interrupted.
Once migration is complete, MSS will notify you by email and schedule an onboarding review call with a SonicSentry Cloud Security specialist. During this call MSS will confirm portal access, review policy configurations, walk through platform features, and provide direct support contact information.
Will email flow be disrupted during migration?
No. Email delivery will continue without interruption. However, there will be a temporary 1-2 hour window during the migration where mail flow is unprotected while policies are being transferred.
Will historical data be migrated?
No. Historical data from your CAS tenant will not be carried over to the new platform.
What if my tenant has not been migrated by June 1, 2026?
Starting June 1, 2026, MSS will automatically migrate all remaining active CAS tenants in batches between Monday and Thursday. You will be notified by email when your migration date is scheduled and again once it is complete. No action is required from you.
Post Migration
How does the user experience differ on the new portal?
Unlike CAS, the SonicSentry Cloud Email Security powered by Avanan portal is not a white-labeled product. Partners and customers will see the product branded as Avanan rather than SonicWall. Partners and customers will log in directly to the Avanan portal instead of accessing it through MySonicWall. User access provisioning will be manual, as MySonicWall user groups and affiliations are not applicable to the Avanan portal.
How do I create or manage tenants and licenses after migration?
Tenant creation, deletion, and user license modifications are managed directly within the SonicSentry Cloud Email Security powered by Avanan MSP portal.
Who should I contact for technical support after migration?
Following migration, please submit support tickets directly to MSS for assistance.
Will there be any changes to the level of support I receive?
No. Migrated CAS customers will continue to receive the same level of support as they do today.
