How to stop SGMS (SonicWall Global Management System) preemption for a logged in administrator on SonicWall Security appliance.

Feature:

This KB article describes, how to prevent SGMS from taking precedence over Logged in GUI Admin user.

Scenario:

When using SonicWallGMS to manage a SonicWall security appliance, GMS frequently logs in to the appliance to synchronize the settings made on the GMS appliance. These frequent GMS log-ins can sometime make logged in administration difficult to manage SonicWall Security Appliance because the local administrator can be preempted by GMS.

Resolution :

Step 1: Go to the diag.html page .

To disable SGMS preemption, which could be done under diag page ,change the SonicWall management URL from main.html
to diag.html and hit 'Enter' .

Step 2: Disable SGMS preemption .

Under Management Settings uncheck the option Allow SGMS to preempt a logged in administrator .





Note: Please do not change any other options on the above page without consulting with SonicWall Technical Support.

Step 3: Apply the changes .

Scroll up and click on Accept .
