How to Launch SSH Terminal Application From UI on SonicOS 7.0/SonicOSX 7.0

Description

The terminal feature allows the user to perform terminal functions such as running debug commands without launching the terminal application separately (as withSSH through putty/Tera Term) or logging in to the console port. Users can easily view the result from the web browser and copy the result.

NOTE: The screenshots below are taken from a Gen 7 TZ device, but the navigation remains the same for NSv on SonicOSX 7.0 unified policy.

Resolution

To Access the Terminal:

  1. Click on the terminal icon on the top right corner of the management UI.

NOTE: To use this feature SSH management should be enabled on the interface that you used to log in to the appliance UI. If you enable it during the current session, kindly log out and log back in to access the SSH terminal.

TIP: To verify that SSH management is enabled on the interface, navigate to Network | System | Interfaces. Click on the configure button for the interface that you are logged in from. Turn the radio button for SSH under management to Enable if not enabled already. Click on OK to save the changes.
