How do I access Safemode SMA 100 series appliances?

Description

If admin access has been lost due to a misplaced password, these steps will reset the SRA or SMA 100 series to factory defaults via SafeMode.

Resolution

Here's how to reset the SRA or SMA 100 series system to factory defaults via SafeMode:

TIP: May Need to Power Off Device then try Reset Button Instuctions Below as you Power On Device 

  1. Press and hold the reset button on the front left of the appliance for 50-80 seconds. This is pushed using an opened paper clip thru a small hole in the front panel. 
  2. The test light should flash when in Safe Mode.
  3. Connect to X0 on the appliance with a PC or laptop and assign an IP in the default subnet of 192.168.200.x
  4. Set the subnet mask as a typical Class C of 255.255.255.0
  5. Set the gateway to 192.168.200.1
  6. Open a browser and navigate to 192.168.200.1(it doesn't work with Https so, use Http port (80).
  7. You will see several options mentioned below :-

  9. Choose Current Firmware with Factory Default Settings.
  10. Click on boot icon to move forward with the process.
  11. Enable --> Boot with factory default settings.

  13. The appliance will boot to defaults and reset all configuration.

The default IP username is admin.

The default password is password.

TIP: Can Load fresh copy of firmware from mysonicwall account download center if either current firmware or backup firmware not loading correctly
