Execute files/applications automatically when you go into a RDP bookmark

Feature/Application:

Your users need to have access to only one application in your remote server. The objective is that when they click on the bookmark, the remote desktop connection starts and the application launches by itself.

Procedure:

In this example we'll configure our RDP to start WireShark automatically.

Step 1: Specify the full path to the program file location in the bookmark.




Step 2: Configure the remote server to allow remote users to launch programs and files.





Step 3: If you do not have the Remote Desktop services, add them by right clicking in "Roles", select "Add Roles", then "Remote Desktop Services" and follow the instructions of the wizard.
