SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge Expands Global Network with Five New Points of Presence

by Suriti Singh

Faster, local enforcement for users in the U.S., Canada, and the Nordics.

SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) is expanding its Secure Private Access network with five new Points of Presence (PoPs), bringing Zero Trust enforcement closer to users across North America and Europe.

The new PoPs are now live in:
  • Los Angeles, California
  • Council Bluffs, Iowa
  • Ashburn, Virginia
  • Montreal, Canada
  • Stockholm, Sweden

Why PoP Location Matters

A PoP is a physical location where high-speed internet connections are established. When a user connects to the internet for specific use cases and applications, their traffic is routed through the nearest PoP. The closer a PoP is to the user, the faster and more consistent the experience. In a Zero Trust model, PoPs are where enforcement happens: where identity is verified, device posture is evaluated, and access decisions are made.

A Turning Point for Nordic Customers

With the Stockholm PoP, Nordic customers can now take full advantage of CSE as a cloud-delivered ZTNA solution with low latency, high performance, and none of the overhead of on-prem infrastructure. Local enforcement also means traffic stays within the region, reducing unnecessary cross-border data flows and simplifying compliance with GDPR and data sovereignty requirements.

Better Routing for Firewall Connector Customers

For customers using the SonicWall Firewall Connector, local PoP coverage delivers a direct operational benefit. Traffic is routed through the nearest available enforcement point rather than traversing long distances across regions, making connections faster and more efficient without any configuration changes required.

The Bigger Picture: A Growing Cloud You Can Rely On

This expansion reflects SonicWall's continued investment in CSE as a scalable, cloud-native ZTNA platform. Every new PoP means automatic, seamless coverage for users in that region with no added hardware procurement, deployment projects, or manual upgrades. For organizations evaluating CSE, PoP Management is a signal worth noting. It reflects a broader commitment to giving security teams real control over how the platform operates and where, not just confidence that it is operating somewhere in the cloud.
