The Extended Log Retention tab allows administrators to configure how long reporting and analytics logs are retained, specify the storage location used for retained data, and schedule automatic deletion of log data that exceeds the configured retention period.
The user should ensure to have provisioned sufficient disk space before extending the log retention period.
In case of Distributed environment, use the controller node to configure log retention.
The settings on this page are available only when:
Reporting and Analytics is enabled on the Deployment Settings tab.
The firewall is licensed for 365 days of Advanced Reporting and Analytics.
To setup the Extended Log Retention
Navigate to System | Settings > Administration.
Select the Extended Log Retention tab.
There are two sub-sections:
Extended Log Retention - This section is used to configure the retention period for supported log data collected by the reporting and analytics service.

| Log Types | Displays the type of log data for which extended retention is configured. |
| Retention Duration |
Allows to configure the duration for which the log data is retained before it becomes eligible for deletion. The retention period can be configured in Months or Years. It can be configured anywhere between 1 year to 7 years. |
| Storage Location | Displays the disk or storage location where retained reporting and analytics data is stored. |
Data Deletion Schedule - This section is used to configure the automated schedule used to remove log data that has exceeded the configured retention period.

| Delete data every | Allows to configure the day and time when the system automatically deletes log data that is older than the configured retention duration. |
Click Accept after configuring all the settings.
