Migration Workflow

The GMS transition to NSM supports these deployment workflows:

• Single server deployment of GMS with syslog, flow, or mixed reporting transitions to NSM.
• Distributed deployment of GMS with syslog, flow, or mixed reporting transitions to NSM.

The GMS to NSM transition follows this general workflow:

1. Trigger the snapshot on the GMS system.
2. Download the snapshot file from GMS to some location that can be accessed by the NSM system you are creating.
3. Upload the GMS snapshot to the NSM system.
4. Start the migration process.
