Enable SonicOS API using CLI

Description

This article explains how to enable SonicOS API using Command-line Interface (CLI).

  1. Login using CLI
    This article uses the PuTTY terminal program to log in using SSH protocol on port TCP 22. You can use any terminal application.

    PuTTY configuration

    Click open.

    You will now be prompted to enter the username and password. This is the same as the admin credentials that you use on the management page in the browser (GUI).

    Login

  2. Commands to enable and Commit the changes:

    After logging in:
    > configure terminal
    # administration
    # sonicos-api
    #commit

    TIP: To disable the SonicOS API, the command will be "no sonic-OS api" and then commit.
     
  3. Logout
    Type end and exit to log out of the CLI session
    Log Out

    CAUTION: "commit" command saves the configuration.
