Feature/Application:

Steps to enable Throttling (flow control) in the Email Security

What is throttling (flow control): Throttling is a method of ensuring that a device, will limit ("throttle") the quantity of data it transmits and/or accepts within a specified period of time.

Procedure:

To enable throttling (flow control) in the Email Security,

Step 1: Please log in to the user interface as an admin user.

Step 2: Navigate to Manage | Security Services | Connection Management | Quality of Service

Step 3: click the checkbox which says “Enable Throttling”.

Throttling can be triggered based on number of connections, messages or recipient commands received from any given IP address in a single day. We can defer future connections from the same IP address for different time intervals (1 hour to 1 year), block future connections from the same IP address or limit future connections from that IP address based on different time durations.
