Connect Tunnel Stuck At Verifying End Point Control Rules

This article explains how to resolve the issue when connect tunnel stuck at Verifying End point Control rules as shown below.

Cause

This issue occurs when the WMI service is not running or stopped working on the endpoint.

Resolution

  • Open System information on the device.
  • If the system Information tab doesn't show any information as shown in the below screenshot, we need to fix this issue first.

  • We need to fix the WMI Service issue on Windows.
  • Open the command promt as administrator.
  • Run the below commands in command prompt.
  • net stop winmgmt    (To Stop the WMI service).
  • winmgmt /resetrepository   (It will report the WMI repository has been reset)
  • net start winmgmt    (it may report the WMI service is already started- It can be ignored).
  • exit   (Closes the command prompt Window)
  • After running the commands, please open system information, it should show all the information.
  • Connect to the Connect Tunnel, it should connect without any issues.
  • Even after running the commands if we face the same issue, we may need to contact Microsoft Support to fix the WMI service issue.
