How to use an external DHCP Server to assign IP addresses to the GVC Client

Resolution

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.


  • Navigate to NETWORK | IPSec VPN | DHCP Over VPN

  • Select "Central Gateway" from the drop-down list and click on Configure...
  • On the new window, check "Send DHCP requests to the server addresses listed below" and then click on Add... and type the external DHCP server IP address.
  • Click OK

With this configuration, you can use your external DHCP server to provide the IP addresses to the GVC clients.

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.


  • Navigate to VPN | DHCP Over VPN

  • Select "Central Gateway" from the drop-down list and click on Configure...
  • On the new window, check "Send DHCP requests to the server addresses listed below" and then click on Add... and type the external DHCP server IP address.
  • Click OK

With this configuration, you can use your external DHCP server to provide the IP addresses to the GVC clients.
