Capture Client – Migrate local CMC user login to MySonicWall account login

Description

Please note that local login to standalone Capture Client Management consoles will be deprecated in next few months. To continue accessing the Capture Client Management console, users will need to login to SonicWall Unified Management platform using a MySonicWall user account. If you cannot login to Unified Management with your account, please reach out to SonicWall Support.

This document outlines how to create a user in MySonicWall/Unified Management to access Capture Client Management Console.

Resolution

  • If User doesn’t have a MySonicWall Account
    • If they are the first MySonicWall user of the Org, then sign up on MySonicWall
    • If one user of the Org already has a MySonicWall account, then new user should be invited to sign up on MySonicWall by one of the existing users and select the user type as “Employee”
      • Navigate to Admin Settings -> Users Access Management -> User groups on Unified Management.

  • Once the user has a MySonicWall Account and needs to access a CC Tenant registered to a different Org
    • Owner Org of the CC Tenant should create an affiliation to the Org of the new user.
      • Before initiating the Affiliation, please get the Organization Account ID of the new user. It can be found under their profile.
      • Initiate the Tenant affiliation. Navigate to Admin Settings -> Users Access Management -> User groups -> Affiliations on Unified Management.
      • Enter the Customer ID, select Tenant, select User Group and Access level.

    • Ensure user group permissions meet the business requirements
    • Affiliation should be approved by the Super Admins of the other Org. Here is the Reference Article
      Note : If you have multiple tenants with multiple customer users, it is recommended to do this for each tenant separately.
  • Login to Unified Management to perform operations in the Capture Client Tenant.
