SonicWall Appoints Tony Taniguchi Japan Country Manager

SonicWall’s continued investment in regional leadership reflects its standing as one of the most trusted names in cybersecurity

MILPITAS, Calif. — July 23, 2026 — To capture expanding enterprise demand and strengthen its regional partner ecosystem, SonicWall has named Tony Taniguchi as Country Manager, Japan. Bringing decades of proven local market expertise, Taniguchi will lead SonicWall’s strategic sales and channel initiatives in Japan to help organizations defend against an increasingly complex threat landscape.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tony to the SonicWall team,” said SonicWall CRO Patrick O’Donnell. “Tony is a highly skilled leader with deep roots in the Japanese cybersecurity market and a demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams. His people-first philosophy and hands-on approach are precisely what will drive our growth in Japan, and we are privileged to have him leading the charge.”

As demand for cloud-delivered security solutions continues to accelerate across the Asia-Pacific region, SonicWall remains focused on deepening its local expertise and expanding its channel footprint. Taniguchi’s appointment reflects the company’s commitment to investing in proven regional leaders who can translate market opportunity into results.

Taniguchi joins SonicWall with a distinguished track record of driving growth in the Japanese cybersecurity sector, most recently serving as Country Manager at WatchGuard Technologies Japan. A veteran leader who has held key positions at Digital Guardian, Fortinet, and TippingPoint, Taniguchi has consistently scaled regional operations by combining a hands-on, collaborative management style with deep, trust-based relationships across the enterprise and channel ecosystems.

SonicWall is a 100% channel-focused company and has over 17,000 partners worldwide. Partners benefit from the award-winning SecureFirst partner program, which earned a five-star rating in the 2026 CRN Partner Program Guide. This distinction is reserved for an elite set of vendors that go above and beyond in delivering best-in-class programs to their solution providers.

With the threat landscape evolving rapidly across Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region, the need for trusted security partners has never been greater.
